Batu Kawan Berhad is a Malaysia-based investment holding company. The Company operates in four segments namely, investment holding, which involves deposits, fixed income trust funds and investment in quoted and unquoted corporations; chemicals, which involves the manufacture and sale of chemicals and transportation services; plantations, is engaged in the cultivation of oil palm and; investment properties, is engaged in the renting out of office space, warehouse and car parks. Its subsidiaries include, See Sen Chemical Berhad, Malay-Sino Chemical Industries Sendirian Berhad, Batu Kawan Holdings Sdn Bhd, Caruso Enterprises Sdn Bhd, Whitmore Holdings Sdn Bhd and Enternal Edge Sdn Bhd. As of December 2, 2010, the Company’s major shareholder was Arusha Enterprise Sdn Bhd which held 45.33% stake in the Company.
