Affin Holdings Berhad is an investment holding company. It operates in five segments: Commercial Banking and hire purchase, Islamic Banking, Investment Banking and stock-broking, Money-broking, Fund and unit trusts management. The principal activity of the jointly controlled entities are underwriting of life insurance business and property development while the associate is principally engaged in the underwriting of general insurance business. The Commercial Banking and Hire Purchase segment focuses on business of banking in all aspects which includes Islamic Banking operations. Investment banking segment includes business of a merchant bank, discount house, fund and unit trusts management. Stock-broking segment comprises institutional and retail broking business for securities listed on the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. The insurance segment includes general and life insurance businesses.
