Axiata Group Berhad is an investment holding company engaged in the provision of consultancy services, where it has investments in subsidiaries and associates. Its subsidiaries provide mobile communication services and network transmission related services. Its geographic segments include Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and others. The segments derive their revenue primarily from the provision of mobile services, leasing of infrastructure, and others, such as provision of interconnect services, leased services, pay television transmission services and provision of other data services. During the year ended December 31, 2010, the Company disposed of 18%, 1.80% interests in PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL), thereby holds 66.69%; the Company, along with its subsidiaries, disposed of its entire shareholding in Samart Corporation Public Company Limited, representing 18.97%, and the equity interest in M1, held through Axiata Investments Singapore Limited (AIS), decreased to 29.49%.
