Apex Healthcare Berhad (APEX) is a Malaysia-based company engaged in investment holding and the provision of management services. APEX operates in two segments: manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, and marketing, distribution and retailing of pharmaceutical products. APEX distributes its products under the brand names of XepaSP, AVEX, KAPS and PURE HEALTH, as well as medicated powder under the brand name ofAGNESIA. APEX is also engaged in property rental and management, as well as licensing of Apex Pharmacy trademark. Through its associated company, Xiamen Maidiken Science & Technology Co Ltd (MDK), APEX operates 67 retail pharmacy chains in Fujian province, the People's Republic of China. During the year ended December 31, 2009, AVEX products launched by APEX were Avevasc (Amlodipine), Ciprox (Ciprofloxacin), Herpevex (Acyclovir), Prazovex (Alprazolam) and Tramox (Tramadol). As of December 31, 2009, APEX had eight subsidiaries.
